It has been over 20 years since the Cape’s last hurricane – Hurricane Bob. Still there continues to be the annual Nor’Easter than in many respects has been more harmful than the occasional hurricane or super storm similar to Super Storm Sandy that impacted New Jersey and New York last year. Typically, the major storm damage is wind-related from trees falling on homes or water damage and flooding.
If there are tree limbs over-hanging your home it is best to have them trimmed. A limb as small in diameter is three inches, can puncture a typical roof. Wind is often a culprit in roof shingles being uplifted and wires coming down. Common sense precautions include securing patio furniture and any other potential airborne objects.
If you are in a flood prone area, it is wise to be attentive to the high tides for your area ,especially if they coincide with storm surge or a full moon. As more and more of the Cape is developed, the amount of wetlands and non-developed generic strattera atomoxetine land available to mitigate water tables is diminished.
